Previously, I noticed the Hungarian tattoo artist Balazs and had a plan called "A Life of a Rose". the phase of roses from full bloom to fall, and each person was assigned a page in the rose's life record.
In the finished product of Balazs, you can see that the seed germination grows into a rose, grows, blooms, takes off, becomes a gift, then dry, decay, and finally wither in the vase.
These independent individuals, because of this project, are connected together for the rest of their lives. The flower finally withered, but it bloomed in the souls of many people.
This time, a company called Momondo also made projects of the same form and meaning.
Elected 61 people from all over the world. Participants are free to choose their own tattoo elements, but there will be two lines across each person's back and extended to others.——When 61 people stand in a circle and turn their backs, the tattoo on them can hold a small world.
The company is a travel search engine that provides travelers with one-stop real-time search and price comparison services for airline tickets, hotels, car rentals, and travel packages. The company was founded in 2006 and is headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark.
As for why do this 61 person tattoo project? It was in 2019 that Momondo found in a global tourism value study that 49% believed that people were less tolerant of other cultures than they were five years ago. However, most people also believe that it depends on the tolerance of the people. And respect.
In order to inform everyone of this data, and to call on everyone to eliminate discrimination and truly become a "family", Momondo has launched an initiative to invite people from all over the world to "make the world together", thus having this name A promotional video for "The World Piece."
The biggest difficulty in shooting this film is to find volunteers who are willing to participate as photographers in various countries.
In preparation for the filming, Momondo launched an invitation on the social network, hoping to find users around the world to participate in the event voluntarily.
In the end, more than 6,500 users submitted applications, and 61 participants were selected. These people are between the ages of 19 and 70, from 61 countries in the world, which together account for 70.3% of the world's population.
Many volunteers were very excited and excited when they were confirmed to be able to participate in the filming. Because these people have a question —— How far would you go to bring the world closer together?
The designer of the tattoo is the single-line tattooist moganji, who designed the tattoo at his home in Berlin and was responsible for selecting and coordinating local tattoo artists. Tattoo the participants with their matching tattoos before they go to the location.
Look at the expressions of these volunteers when they are tied
After all the work was ready, the participants were invited to the studio in London. After turning around, the tattoo lines on the back were connected to each other and the scene was spectacular. 61 strangers convey the same message to the world: uniting us is more important than splitting us.
Moderator's question: Can you share why it's important for you to be part of this project?
The woman spoke first: she admits that she is from 15 to 20 years old, and most of the people present she has hated. People who hate black people, discuss brown skin, hate Muslims, and hate Jews. She thinks she used to be really scared of this world.
The second lady said: My daughter's skin color is different from mine. I worry for my daughter. It's not nice to live in fear but I'm afraid.
The man said: When you' re 18 you have to get drafted into the army. And I' ve been doing whatever I could to break the world apart. I just need to change it. I need to fix it.
Some people said: I don't have huge amounts of money to solve world problems and all of that, but for me, if I can make a little difference by just getting a tattoo, well then, I think I' ve accomplished something.
The man's tattoo is two outstretched hands. He said: The tattoo is basically a reaching hand. Hold out your hand, take somebody, move them next to you and it doesn't matter where he's from and what his religion is, what his political beliefs are.
A tattoo that traverses the back is made up of everyone's wishes, beliefs, and stories. The tattoos on them are not based on skin color, faith, and nationality, but merely as human connections.
After listening to their own sharing, everyone was excited to embrace it together.
The company's official website detailed the original intention of each person's tattoo, and I selected several to share with you.
Reva from South Africa:
I grew up in the post-apartheid era, where I wasn't allowed to go into certain areas because of the color of my skin. I wasn't allowed to go to certain schools, take certain busses, use certain toilets. So for me, it's about showing that no matter where you' re from, you can change your story. Today, I teach young people from disadvantaged communities to be role models through sports.
Edafe from Nigeria:
I left Nigeria in 2016 and sought asylum in the United States. When l arrived I was placed in a detention center for six months and then released, and now I live freely as a gay man in the United States. It might be a different kind of persecution Iface for being a gay man to being a black man in America but it's what it is. You can't get everything you want in life, but it is our hope that the world will become more humane.
Jakub from Cameroon:
I meet so many people who live far from me but also play or listen to the same music. I love how music can give you a feeling of being connected to someone even if you don't know them at al. They may look different, dress different and act different but in the end you' re at the same party, smiling at each other, dancing together and enjoying yourself while listening to the same music.
Vladas from Belarus:
Many years ago, I was backpacking in Asia and got food poisoning. I had to get off the train in a tiny town and got a room at a hostel, but no bank would accept my foreign card so I could buy medicine. When the otherwise strict woman who ran the hostel found out, she bought bread, medicine, and a train ticket. She didn't speak English, and never understood a word she said, but l often think of her. This is my chance to pay back her kindness.
Luc from South Korea:
I believe that one line-combining us all-is somewhat of a great metaphor for life itself. As different as the designs may be, they all share one overall meaning.
The project is currently fermenting on social media around the world and sparks discussions about how we can create more open and tolerant conversations around the world.
According to statistics, the event has received 73 million views and 470,000 interactions within one day of the June 28 release.
The film's director, Joshua Neale, mentioned that he saw a group of participants in the project on the INS planning to meet in Berlin and that these people who had no connection had established a true friendship. “I hope that the positive expansion will far exceed the 61 participants.”
See here, I believe you can understand how Momondo is doing this project. As a travel website, they hope that this project will encourage more people to travel with openness and curiosity, to talk to strangers, to connect, and to make more beautiful things happen on the road.
I hope this project will bring some minor changes to connect humans. As the man in the film said, "When we all undressed, we are the same."
As long as you are willing to draw closer to each other, the world will not collapse.
